Reading Reflection

Dear Sixth Grader:

Today we will be typing your final draft of your reading reflection.  Before typing up our work, please view the work below.

The cover page example should guide you in creating your cover page today.

The first paragraph is a good model to look at for help if you need it with the first paragraph.

Please read the second paragraph carefully and notice how it has been marked up.  You will be doing the same thing to your ROUGH DRAFT before you type.  Follow the instructions below:

  1. With a colored pencil, identify the topic sentence and wrap up sentence.
  2. With a different color, box in your first reason, underline your first piece of evidence, and circle your first page #.
  3. With a different color, box in your second reason, underline your second piece of evidence, and circle your second page #.
  4. With a different color, box in your third reason, underline your third piece of evidence, and circle your third page #.
Once you have finished the steps above, use the RUBRIC that was handed out to you to score your work with a PENCIL (not colored pencil!)

Once you complete your final draft, please PRINT it out.  STAPLE the rubric you graded yourself on BEHIND your work!  Your final draft should be in this order:  Cover page, 2 paragraphs, rubric.
Your final draft is due on MONDAY at the beginning of class.  Today is our only day in the computer lab.  Mrs. Clark and I are excited to read your work! :)
